Mya Brand is in a race against climate change, as she tries to digitally archive the life stories of humanity before it’s too late. Living in New York City in the year 2030, her daily survival is fraught with hardships of obtaining food and maintaining basic essentials. She struggles on, until one day she is abducted by an eco-survivalist community that promises her that her dream of preserving the human stories of civilization dreams will come true. When I first posted the cover for In Ark (Dec '13), the now existing subtitle, A Promise of Survival, wasn't even a thought. After beta readers submitted suggestions of adding to the title, Lisa and I first thought we could get away with not altering the design we both liked. If the subtitle were included in the Amazon description and on websites, it would still work, especially since, initially, the book was only going to be available in digital formats.
Well, here it is, almost a year later. Refinements to the text have been finalized, and book signings scheduled (meaning a print version has been decided upon). It was time to rectify the cover title/design quirk, create flyers and posters, and update websites so promotion can be amplified. The official coming out of In Ark: A Promise of Survival, is November 8th, 2014, with the coming out party at Victoria Park Books, London, but for the non-locals, head on over to Amazon for your eBook or paperback. :D |
