A mist rose from the water's placid surface. It smelled of wood and rosemary. "Would you look at that?"
The eagle pulled back. The bowl had shown the bird's reflection as a young faerie with pale skin, deep blue eyes, dark brown hair, and a strange mark on her forehead. The bird eyed Flora questioningly. "It shows us things, not always what we expect." Flora returned her attention to the vapors rising from the bowl. It was as if the water boiled, but the water's surface remained still. |
