First, the line rendering of the main character ...

   Nothing to fancy, just get the proportions right.

   Since I only have a couple pics of the real life person that the story is about, I have to improvise on personality.

   How would they stand? What types of expressions do they make? Gestures? All of this I make up as I go along.

   Next, line drawing of the environment elements(s) ...

   (Trees made of licorice).

   This was harder than expected. I keep forgetting I hyper zone into patters ...lol.

   Here you see it in the layout with all the colors applied.

   I have an illness.

   I obsess over patterns. Straw, scales, stripes, spots, the list goes on.

   Today, like a moron, I thought it would look cool to make a forest made of licorice candies, the tops out of black licorice leaf candies.

   Yes, I have lost my mind. I KNOW I don't do abstract. I KNOW I will feel compelled to draw each leaf I see in my head. I KNOW I can't make myself 'suggest' leaves, though  was taught how long ago in college.

    WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF???

   Well, it took me longer to do one tree top, than the main character, but it's done. Just need to draw the red licorice trunk, and add color. Then page 10 of Anna's Sweet Dream should be ready for touch-ups in Photoshop and placed into the layout in InDesign.

   Three days for one drawing.

   And people think illustrators charge too much ... ha!

   I haven't had much time to work on Anna's Sweet Dream, lately.

   I made it a point to get a few illustrations done today ... earn my pay a little ... lol.

   Who can can guess what happens next?

   Although, try not to mind the colors here. For some reason, they altered in the upload a bit.

   Anna's Sweet Dream is one of the four books I NEED TO COMPLETE BY NOVEMBER FIRST ...

   All four authors/publishers want their books in hand for Christmas sales.

   Send me your mental and physical strength, people ... lol.

   I finished the line version of the first illustration for Anna's Sweet Dream. Today I get to paint it. I love playing in my water colors ... lol.

   Once I add the color and place it in the format, I'll show it off. I'll even give ya the words that go with it.

   Ain't I sweet (pun intended).
