After talking to Viv, called Waldenbooks (where my upcoming book signing is scheduled), and informed the manager that the book was available through Ingram, so they better order fast if they plan to have copies in time. 'The First Miracle' ... off to the printers. 11/11/2009
 I am so stoked! I just submitted the final files for The First Miracle and hope that the printer can have the book ready for order in the next week or so. Today was so hectic trying to get this one tied up. Here is the trailer again, for those who missed it before, and below it, the individual illustrations for those who have a slower connection and can't see it, along with the back cover blurb.

Since this is the last illustration I can share for this book, I thought I would relish it a little longer by showing off the sketch. This year's theme is Read Beyond Reality @ your library, which encourages teens to read something out of this world, just for the fun of it. I wanted to show off two of the Tween/YA books that I recently illustrated and designed. They may not be 'out of this world' in a sci-f or astronomical sense, but found both to have 'other world' traits. In Just Breeze by Beverly Stowe McClure, the main character often speculates about the new mystery guy at school being from another planet. We also discover the 'world' of a young girl coming of age and how she sees not only her world, but herself, while she learns that others she her quite differently.  Copyright held by WillowRaven & 4RV Publishing In Second Chance by Galand Nuchols, we are taken into a world of racism, hardship, and friendship during a different time. Growng up is tough now, and it was tough in the 1930s, too. In my last two posts, I have made trailers for each book. I hope you check them both out.
